This time, Stewart Bowman, Arran&#8217;s Distillery Manager, selected an 11-year-old single malt with 42ppm. This has been stored in ex-bourbon casks for the first five and a half years since 2012 and was transferred to 115-litre quarter casks from the Koval distillery in Chicago for a further five and a half years in September 2018. No peated whisky has been distilled at Lochranza Distillery since 2017 and these special quarter casks were used exclusively for this edition &#8211; a rather exclusive bottling of which there are 14,822 bottles worldwide.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Arran Signature Series Edition 2 \u2013 Barrel Bonfire<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>50 % | 70cl<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Colour<\/strong>: Light amber.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Flavour<\/strong>: Hazelnuts coated with caramel. Orange peel and plenty of vanilla. Lots of dry smoke.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Palate<\/strong>: Delicious, oily and complex. Spicy; cinnamon notes mingle with citrus fruits. Lots of vanilla and toasted oak.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Finish<\/strong>: Long lasting and sweet. Lots of vanilla and peat with dry campfire smoke. Full-bodied and luxurious.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Isle of Arran lies between the mainland and the elongated Kintyre peninsula. It is often referred to as \u201cScotland in miniature\u201d due to its scenic features and charms. There has been a legal distillery there again since 1995, the Lochranza Distillery.
