The rum barrels were stored in the gunroom together with the weapons and gunpowder. For a spirit to be \u201cgunpowder proof\u201d, it had to be distilled at a high percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 65%, the \u201cGunroom\u201d corresponds exactly to this style: it is a blend of rums of different ages that fall into the category of heavy British rums. Demerara pot-still rum from Guyana makes up the majority of the blend.
