Ian Macleod Distillers Limited has been in existence since 1933 and is still one hundred per cent Scottish-owned today. It is one of the largest producers of Scotch whisky. The family business has an impressive portfolio of first-class brands, including Smokehead.Smokehead is a full-bodied and intensely peaty whisky. The flavours are fresh, fruity and powerful. Notes of sherry, iodine, toffee, smoke and sea salt fight for attention in the foreground. The classic smokehead impresses with particularly smoky, earthy and spicy notes as well as hints of honey. The “High Voltage” with 58% alcohol is also on offer, which impresses with creamy, nutty flavours and a smoky finish. The “Sherry Bomb” is also available in limited quantities. All smokeheads have one thing in common: they are not for the faint-hearted.
