John & William Hardie began their quest to create the perfect Blended Scotch Whisky more than 150 years ago. In 1888, using only the finest and rarest malts, they succeeded in creating what was considered to be superior to all other blends; THE ANTIQUARY.
The name is taken from the famous Gothic novel written by Sir Walter Scott, redolent with family secrets, stories of hidden treasure and hopeless love. Today, the story continues with this range of premium Blended Scotch Whisky which is, quite simply, a cut above.
Containing an exceptionally high proportion of malt whiskies, The Antiquary is pleasantly sweet and perfectly balanced with a light and fresh character.
Clean and soft with vanilla, orange, lemon and very light smoke.
Fresh, but balancing mellow grain with ripe and fruity malt. Some heathery notes coming through.
Medium. Soft with a light smokiness.
Crafted using Scotland’s most treasured malt and grain whiskies, all of which have been matured for over twelve years, The Antiquary 12 Year Old is light and delicate with a smooth, lingering finish.
Peaty, earthy and solid, while in direct contrast displaying delicate fresh lemony lime characters. Nicely rounded and malty.
Mellow yet feisty, predominately malty, citrus flavours come through well with a gentle peaty touch.
Soft with a spicy tingle.
Matured in specially selected oak casks for over twenty one years, The Antiquary 21 Year Old is a smooth blend of rare distinction, containing only the best Scottish malt and grain whiskies.
Fresh and invigorating, very malty sweet – treacle toffee with hints of bitter orange and lemon.
Full and smooth with a warming syrupy sweetness, burst of malty flavours. Very long satisfying heather honeyed aftertaste.
Dry oak spice finish.
