Redemption produces handcrafted whisky in a 170-year-old distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Their aim is to restore rye whisky to its traditional reputation. Hence the name Redemption, which means “redemption”.
This applies to the flagship product, rye, which consists of 95% rye and offers the typical flavour. But it also applies to the bourbons, where the rye content is limited by law; after all, bourbon is mainly made from corn. The “High-Rye Bourbon” contains the maximum permitted 36% rye, while the “Bourbon” still contains 21% rye. All three are matured in heavily toasted new oak barrels.
