New in the range: Lochlea Lowland Single Malt Whisky

Almost exactly four weeks ago, my team and I were in Scotland and also visited our newest partner, the “Lochlea Distillery”. We were all impressed by the whisky itself, but also by the history of the farm. Where else can you walk from the stillhouse to the barley field in a few steps and then smell and touch last year’s harvest in the storage barn.

You have never heard of Lochlea Distillery? This was by design, because in fact the family that owns Lochlea Farm had decided since its inception in 2014 not to reveal their project and to work quietly on quality first. Neil McGeoch’s idea was clear from the start: the family farm had been growing barley to supply the whisky industry for decades, and in the early 2010s Neil made the decision to use this experience for his own distillery. The project was approved in 2014 and construction began in 2016.

We are now very proud to present the first Core Range Single Malt from Lochlea Distillery – the “Our Barley”. This Lowland whisky is bottled at 46% by volume and is of course neither cold-filtered nor contains any colouring. International sales started on Monday 18 July and we are already able to start deliveries.
