An outstanding performance from GlenAllachie at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2021.
The 12yo and 15yo both scoring in the 90s. The 12yo in particular scored very highly at 93 points.
The MacNair’s Lum Reek and the White Heather also received exceptional recognition, continuing to demonstrate the art of blending.
The White Heather 21yo was a finalist for Best Blended Scotch Whisky with 94 points. USC tasting note: “This is a powerfully scented dram that shows no sign of fading despite the age statement. Butterscotch in colour, and lively with assertive heat boosting flavours of tangy citrus, lively florals, and a rich finish of toasted oak on the palate.”
In addition, MacNair’s Lum Reek 12yo made the Top 100 spirits list with 93 points. USC tasting note: “Floral smoke and honey on the nose make way for this exquisite blended dram where notes of tobacco, hay, caramel candy, ripe orange and roasted peanuts mingle on the palate and taper with a finish of dark bread and smoky tea.”
