Glengoyne – unhurried since 1833

The history of Glengoyne Distillery began over 170 years ago. The whisky distillery was then known as Burnfoot Distillery and was established in 1833. A name change to Glen Guin Distillery followed shortly afterwards. In early 1905, the Lang brothers decided to give the distillery a new name, and Glengoyne Distillery was born. Around 1889, their employee and master distiller Tedder laid the foundation for how Glengoyne whisky should taste. In 2003, Ian Macleod Distillers, an independent Scottish family business, took over Glengoyne Distillery.

Glengoyne Single Cask #1127

70cl | 55.3 %

In the tranquillity of Glen Guin Valley, the makers of Glengoyne know that patience is rewarded. For every minute that other whiskies spend in their stills, Glengoyne spends three. Only then is the distillate filled into casks that have themselves been prepared for six years. This is the Glengoyne way.

This is a single cask bottling produced exclusively for Switzerland, with a yield of 305 bottles.

Colour: dark mahogany.

Nose: Christmas biscuits, burnt orange peel, dried fruit.

Palate: Strong, pronounced wood aromas, cigar box, leather, caramelised apple, Christmas spices.

Finish: extremely long-lasting and, despite the strong oak notes, absolutely not bitter.

Casks: Sherry hogsheads made from European oak.
