Meikle Tòir – Peated Speyside Single Malt

Meikle Tòir, which means “great striving”, stands for the seasonal peaty whisky production that Billy Walker and his team started at GlenAllachie in 2018. Using mainland peat from St Fergus, about 100,000 litres of alcohol are produced in about six weeks a year. Meikle Tòir production starts with a long fermentation time of 160 hours – almost three times the industry average – and produces a fruity, estery-rich whisky.

The eye-catching packaging features a hand-drawn illustration by renowned Scottish artist Iain McIntosh, depicting the rugged terrain surrounding the distillery, including the famous Ben Rinne peak. The complementary “earthy” colour palette was chosen to suggest the smoky flavour profile.

Good to know: Meikle Tòir is pronounced “mee-kuhl tor”.
